Baby Boy's Nursery

We are getting down to the wire! Today I'm 37 weeks, 3 days - full term. Whoo! We just put the finishing touches on the nursery, everything is washed, and now we just need a little guy to put in here ;).

I give Randy ALL the credit for this room. The room was already painted grey and white but he put together the crib, glider, dresser, hung all the decor, etc. I just directed and did the laundry :). He's the best!

I didn't really have a theme in mind, I just knew I wanted to keep the grey/white color scheme and add touches of blue. A LOT of the decor on the walls is from Hobby Lobby.. like pretty much all of it, haha. Crib is from Wayfair, glider/ottoman from Babies R Us, dresser from Ikea.. A couple of the blue wall pieces are from Homegoods. I think that's about it.

A few things - I know that some of the decor by his changing table or crib will need to be adjusted when he gets bigger so he's not grabbing anything off the wall. We'll adjust as we need to when that time comes. Also, we don't have a lot in his closet because I put most everything in his dresser. There's like two things hanging in there and a couple boxes of diapers. Let's get into it!

This is the view from the door...

...and when you look to the left, this is what you see. Obviously when the time comes for him to sleep in his crib (which will be awhile) the pillows won't be there. I plan to bring one to the hospital and then we'll be using the other one once we get home.

This is the opposite corner from the door. There was a daybed in the room before and we just left it because there was room for it. Note the kitty by the lamp :) I need to change that lampshade still as well. The flower pattern on it is a little too girly in my opinion. :)

Another view of the crib/glider wall.. eventually the blue decor piece on the wall will have pictures (as well as a couple other spots in the room).

Another shot of the glider. I plan to keep some breastfeeding essentials in that little side table and then his night light/sound machine is on top with a book of prayers.

The opposite wall with the closet...

These two items on the wall were made by very special people! The black wall hanging was made by Randy's mom and the white glass piece was put together by my mom's best friend. I love love love that the little guy has such special pieces in his room. We also have his book shelf stocked and the monitor ready to go!

His dresser/changing table. We bought a regular dresser from Ikea and I just put the changing pad on top of it so we can use it for a long time. The diaper bag will obviously come with us to the hospital and to places when he's born but for now it sits there. The diaper caddy between the changing pad and diaper bag will probably live downstairs or in our room but again - for now, this is the spot for it. The cute little wall hanging on the left is from my sister-in-law and I think it ties in so well with everything else on this wall.

Another shot of the crib..

...and the wall decor.

I put a basket under this little table for all his stuffed animals he's gotten so far..

The decor by the glider.. again, the picture on the left will eventually be of us :)

More wall decor.. again the blue pieces will have pictures eventually.

Another shot of the door/crib area.

His book of prayers and night light/sound machine.

Allllllll the cute little stuffed animals :)

And to the right of the crib we have a night light and a basket of blankies which is FULL.

Last but not least, we have a calendar above his crib/light switch that my sister-in-law got us. This will be so nice to track all of his 'firsts' and all that good stuff. I'd really love to fill it out but I need to wait and see if he comes in November or December! :)

That's it! I hope you enjoyed. If you have any questions on where anything is from, leave a comment below. We can't wait to meet this special little guy!

One outtake of a naughty kitty :)

36 Week Bumpdate

Due date: December 7th, 2017

How far along: 36 weeks

Gender: BOY!!!!

Baby’s name: Still the same – we’re 99% sure we know but just need to see him to make sure it’s right!

Size of the baby: A pineapple I think? He’s about 18 inches long and weighing about 5 or 6 pounds.

Movement: Holy moly. Some of his movements these days make me stop and catch my breath. He is a strong little guy.

Total weight gain so far: 30-35 pounds.

Symptoms: Mostly just swelling still! My feet are always swollen; better in the morning and pretty bad by the time I go to bed. My fingers are swelling a little bit, too. I stopped wearing my rings because I was afraid they’d get stuck J

Most recent doctor appointment: Just had one on Friday. My belly’s measuring a couple weeks ahead and my doctor would like to do another ultrasound in a couple weeks to try and gage how big he is. Other than that, baby’s heartbeat is good and all is well.

Belly button in or out: It’s kind of out? I don’t know, I just try not to pay attention to it because I don’t like it J

Favorite maternity clothes right now: Umm none? Haha I pretty much live in leggings/sweatshirts/Randy’s clothes.

Stretch marks: The ones I already had are expanding a little bit but no new ones.

Sleep: I actually still sleep pretty well. Some nights are better than others – normally I sleep through the night still. Other nights I’ll need to get up and pee or my back/hips are hurting me. I’m not complaining though!

Mood: I’ve been a little more emotional lately. I’m just easily overwhelmed these days with wanting to do ALL the things but knowing I should also take it easy. Randy has been really great about helping and making sure I put my feet up when I can. I don’t know what I would do without him!

Food cravings: None really.

Favorite moment this week: We ordered the stuff we still needed from our registries and hung décor in the nursery. It’s fun to see it all coming together!

Biggest complaint: Back and hip pain. I know it’s almost over so I’m just working on getting comfortable whatever ways I can these days.

Recent baby purchase: A bunch of stuff to finish the registries. Changing pad, monitor, rock ‘n play, diaper pail, etc. Oh and we had a credit at Babies R Us so we stopped in there one day. We HAD to get the baby some Converse so he could match his daddy. J They’re pretty cute!

Hubby: Basically my most favorite human on this earth. He barely ever sits down these days he’s so busy with the baby stuff and all he volunteers for around town – I don’t think I’d survive if I were him.

Nursery: Really REALLY close to being done! Two more things to hang and then I can share it!

Labor signs: None so far.
Looking forward to: Meeting this little guy!!
I'll end with some of our maternity pictures! And one from Halloween when I enjoyed being a carebear for the day :) Reflections by Becky shot our maternity photos and they turned out so amazing; I love them!

30 Week Bumpdate!

I hit 30 weeks as of this past Thursday - I can't believe my due date is only 10 weeks away! I think time is about to start dragging but yet will be here before we know it.

Due date: December 7th, 2017

How far along: 30 weeks!

Gender: BOY!!!!

Baby’s name: I think we have it narrowed down to a top two but I don't think we'll decide until he makes his appearance.

Size of the baby: He's as big as a zucchini. Almost 3 pounds and about 15 inches long. But I'd guess he's bigger/longer than that because my belly is measuring two weeks ahead. Probably because Randy and I are giants!

Movement: Alllllll day every day. Kicks and punches and rolling around in there like crazy.

Total weight gain so far: Just over 20 pounds.

Symptoms: The usual - swollen feet/ankles and leg cramps with a little bit of heartburn/overall discomfort thrown in. The heartburn is not bad at all, it really only happens after I eat and then sit in a weird position where the baby is pushing everything up. I've had a couple of days the past few weeks where the baby is just in a weird position - like under my ribs or whatever - where I've been uncomfortable. Other than that I'm still feeling really good about 90% of the time.

Most recent doctor appointment: This past Monday. Heart rate was about 140 bpm, my blood pressure was good. I also got my Tdap and flu shots. Whomp whomp :) We also had another ultrasound on Thursday because my placenta was apparently low-lying at my anatomy ultrasound. Everything is where it should be and baby still looks great. The ultrasound tech showed us his kidney, heart, stomach, etc. - which all look like little blobs to me but yay that he has them :) Hah!

Belly button in or out: Still in for the most part but starting to pop out.

Favorite maternity clothes right now: Ummm. Leggings and long sleeve shirts/sweatshirts. Comfort is the name of my game.

Stretch marks: Mmmm none really. I had some on my 'love handles' before I was pregnant and those are still there but I don't think they've gotten worse.

Sleep: I still sleep pretty well overall. Leg cramps don't wake me up AS much and I still wake up once in awhile (but not every night) to pee. I told my sister the other day that sleep isn't really the problem but getting out of bed is. It feels like my insides need a minute to shift back to where they need to be. :)

Mood: Good! I think the pregnancy hormones are coming on a little stronger lately but I'm still in a good mood (I think). It's more happy hormones than anything - I almost started crying the other day when I hugged Randy because I just love him so much and seeing him do all of these things for the little baby makes me happy. :) #sappy

Food cravings: Not really strongly craving anything. Still loving meat, beans, milk but also the sweets have made their way back into my life. I liked the first trimester when I had no interest in candy or sweets ;)

Favorite moment this week: I think seeing the nursery coming together. It makes it that much more real.

Biggest complaint: Trying to find a dress for my baby shower(s). I found one but I ordered a few online that weren't great and then I tried on about 20 in the store (which is a lot of dang work at 30 weeks pregnant!!!).

Recent baby purchase: A lot since my last post! We got the crib, rocking chair, dresser and some clothes for the little babe. I'm trying not to buy too much for clothes because we don't know how big he'll be but sometimes it's hard to resist. I'm expecting him to be bigger rather than smaller considering how tall Randy and I are so we only bought a few newborn size outfits and the rest 3mo and bigger.

Hubby: Still a saint. Putting together allllllll the nursery furniture and putting up with me. :)

Nursery: Coming together! Got the crib, rocking chair and dresser put together. Now we just need to move a few more things out of there before I can really get stuff where it needs to be. Hopefully I can do a nursery post here soon!

Labor signs: Still none. I think I might've had a few Braxton Hicks contractions one night but nothing crazy.
Looking forward to: My first baby shower is this weekend! I can't wait to see everyone and show this little baby some love.
I don't have any bump pictures to end with this time but our maternity pictures are coming up soon. I'm excited for that!

What's Up Wednesday

I'm linking up with Shay, Shaeffer and Mel today for What's Up Wednesday! Yahoo for short weeks after a long weekend - #amiright? Hope you all had a great Labor Day weekend and a good start to this short week!

1) WHAT WE'RE EATING THIS WEEK

I haven't gotten around to planning meals for the week yet but I'm sure it'll consist of our regulars -  tacos, pizza, grilled cheese, etc. Easy things of course!

2) WHAT I'M REMINISCING ABOUT

My 'on this day' Facebook feature keeps showing me pictures of when I was studying abroad in Ireland 5 years ago. That trip taught me so much about life in general - I love thinking back on it with a smile.

3) WHAT I'M LOVING

Probably weird but PEACHES. Haha! I bought a few randomly at Wal-Mart one day and I've had at least one a day since then. They're definitely not the best peaches in the world but they're still yummy.

4) WHAT WE'VE BEEN UP TO

We went 'shopping' this past weekend in the cities. We were hoping to sit in a bunch of gliders at a few different Babies R Us stores but they didn't have much out to try so it was kind of a bust. BUT while we were there - we added a whole bunch of stuff to our registry and basically dove head first into all things baby. It was so fun! When we got home we ended up ordering the glider we wanted online - I'll share soon!

5) WHAT I'M DREADING

Ummm... I suppose I'm dreading getting to the uncomfortable part of pregnancy? I still feel GREAT right now (27 weeks tomorrow) so I suppose that's the thing I'm least looking forward to right now.

6) WHAT I'M WORKING ON

All things Baby. The crib came in yesterday, the glider should be here in a week or two - so exciting. I've also been working hard on our registries. My family is planning our first baby shower so we've been working on that, too!

7) WHAT I'M EXCITED ABOUT

FALL!!!!!!!!!!! I love fall so much. I've got my fall candles burning and I can't wait to make yummy fall foods like chili, BBQs, and everything pumpkin. My hoodies are waiting to come out, too - cooler temps are coming!!

My FAVORITE fall candle. Perfect mix of sweet and spicy :)

8) WHAT I'M WATCHING/READING

Still watching Grey's Anatomy for the second or third time.. :) The only show we've been keeping up with on Hulu is America's Got Talent. We're a few episodes behind but there's so many good acts this year! I love that show. Randy and I watched a couple movies this weekend - Deadpool and We're the Millers. I didn't really love Deadpool but We're the Millers was funny! It was pretty crude humor at times but still funny.

I've been reading The Hypnotist's Love Story by Liane Moriarty for over a month now.. I hit a boring spot and haven't pushed through to the end yet. I really need to do that so I can move on to another book!

9) WHAT I'M LISTENING TO

Praying by Ke$ha has been at the top of my list.

10) WHAT I'M WEARING

None of my normal clothes - that's for sure. Pretty much only maternity stuff at this point - dresses, maxi skirts, jeans/shirts, etc. Nothing super fun!

11) WHAT I'M DOING THIS WEEKEND

Saturday morning I'm doing makeup for a wedding then we have Ribfest Saturday night. All the fire departments in the area get together and make ribs, then people come and they can try some from each town and then vote for whose they like best! I don't really LOVE ribs but Randy's on the fire department so I'll go just for fun. Sunday morning I have to sing for church but after that we'll just be cleaning up around the house, probably doing more baby things and relaxing.

12) WHAT I'M LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH

September... Getting through the last of wedding season! And the start of all things fall like I said earlier.

13) WHAT ELSE IS NEW

Not much - just a growing belly and our lives being consumed by all things baby!

Have a great rest of your week!

25 Week Bumpdate!

Once again... I wrote this back when I actually was 25 weeks but I'm just now getting around to posting it. I'll be 27 weeks this Thursday.

Due date: December 7th, 2017

How far along: 25 weeks exactly!

Gender: BOY!!!!

Baby’s name: We have a few favorites but we’re still not 100% on it. I feel like at this point I need to see him to know if it fits!

Size of the baby: Cauliflower.. which I’m guessing is a whole head of cauliflower? About a foot long and just over a pound.

Movement: Feeling kicks all the time. I love it.

Total weight gain so far: Around 15 pounds.

Symptoms: Swollen ankles and leg cramps. I’m still trying to put my feet up when I can – especially when I’m sleeping. They’re still swollen pretty much every day, some days are worse than others. The leg cramps will wake me up at night, usually every night. I’m trying to drink more water and have a banana regularly. I also tried some compression socks the other night to try and bring the swelling down but the ones I bought were too much – I need a lower level of compression. I could barely get them off and on. Randy had to help me; it was a sight to see.

Most recent doctor appointment: I just did my glucose test this week and we had a prenatal appointment Friday morning. I passed my glucose test, my blood pressure is great, baby's heartbeat was good - all is looking great! And P.S. I didn't think the glucose test was as bad as I've read about online ;)

Belly button in or out: In. I think it’ll be a little bit yet before it pops out.

Favorite maternity clothes right now: Dresses. More specifically, maxi dresses/skirts. They’re just the easiest and comfiest things to wear. I’m not sure what I’ll wear if it gets really cold in November/December. I despise wearing pants right now!

Stretch marks: None so far!

Sleep: Pretty good. It seems my new normal is to wake up once per night due to leg cramps, go downstairs to get an ice pack to help with the cramping and then pee while I’m at it. Once the leg cramps subside, I can usually fall back asleep pretty quickly.

Mood: I feel like overall I haven’t been that bad. As long as I’m fed - I am known to get hangry for sure! On my mom’s birthday we went out to eat for lunch with the family. Before we got there I ran a few errands with Randy. I was SO crabby at him because I was hungry and I just wanted to get there and eat! Right when we arrived I ordered a basket of fries. Once I got some of those in me I was fine.. and proceeded to eat my whole plate of chicken quesadillas. Obviously. So to sum up – I’m not that moody unless I’m hungry and Randy’s a saint.

Food cravings: I don’t feel like I’ve been craving much of anything lately. Once in awhile I’ll crave a glass of milk – white or chocolate. Cereal has been great lately. Oh and my favorite snack is banana cream yogurt with graham crackers crushed on top. It’s like a mini banana cream pie! But with about 12 grams of protein ;)

Favorite moment this week: Just feeling the little baby kick!

Biggest complaint: Swelling/leg cramps. It’s really nothing compared to what other ladies go through during pregnancy but that’s all I have to complain about! I’m grateful.

Recent baby purchase: Ummm I don’t think we’ve purchased anything since the last time I posted. But my sister-in-law gave us the cutest onesie and a baby calendar to mark all his special ‘firsts’! The onesie says ‘I’m just a stud muffin looking for my cupcake’ – haha! So cute.

Hubby: Like I said.. he’s a saint. He’s just really excited to meet the little fella.

Nursery: Hasn’t been touched in a few weeks. I’ve done a few minor things but nothing really worth sharing.

Labor signs: None!
Looking forward to: I think we’re going to register soon.. I’m half excited and half thinking we’ll be overwhelmed with all the decisions we’ll be making.
I'll leave you with a few pictures.. :)
