books I've recently enjoyed

I've always loved reading but sometimes I go through streaks of time where I don't read anything at all. Well recently I've gotten through a few good books so I thought I'd share!

So on Saturday morning, I woke up and made Randy breakfast, started the laundry, did the dishes, did some vacuuming - then I was going to sit down to read a little bit before I went to the grocery store. I sat down around 6:30am and started reading and told myself I'd get up to go to the grocery store at 8. Well guess what time I went to the grocery store? Around 1pm. Because I had to finish this book!!! I'm glad I had nothing else to do that day :) It was so good. I've been obsessed with Colleen Hoover ever since I read It Ends With Us (also finished in one sitting) and I don't see the obsession ending any time soon. Ugly Love is the book I read on Saturday and it's basically about a guy and girl that decide to have a 'friends with benefits' relationship but.. we all know how that turns out. P.S. it's probably rated PG-13 or R. Here's a little quote from Amazon:

"Hearts get infiltrated.
Promises get broken.
Rules get shattered.
Love gets ugly."

Ugly Love: A Novel by [Hoover, Colleen]

These next two books I read while I was on vacation in February. First up is another Colleen Hoover book. This one I started on the plane and finished in the middle of the night when I couldn't sleep. :) This one was very good, too - I can honestly say that I've never read a book that had certain elements that Maybe Someday had. And you'll just have to read it to find out what I mean! Haha. It's another romantic type of novel but the depth of love that I felt during this book was on another level.

Maybe Someday by [Hoover, Colleen]

Last but not least is Everything We Keep by Kerry Lonsdale. This one is a mix between romance and mystery. Basically it starts out with the main character (Aimee) burying her fiance on what was supposed to be their wedding day. Then after the funeral she finds out that there's reason to believe he's not actually dead! Then the whole book takes you through her trying to figure out the true story. Very very good book - and there's a sequel coming out in July, I believe. I'll definitely be reading that!

That's it for today! Have you read these books yet? If you're into reading and you haven't, definitely check them out!

Makeup Monday: Current Foundation Routine

Today I thought I'd share my current foundation routine. I'm not sure if I'll post 'Makeup Monday' every Monday but... it was a cute blog post name so I went with it. I linked all the products (except one that is no longer available) under the first picture if you're interested in purchasing any of them. :) Let's get to it!

Here's allllll the face products I use - pretty much on a daily basis. For work I'll use these products and then throw on some eyebrows, mascara and lip gloss. But on the weekends when I have more time I'll do more with my eyeshadow, highlighter, eyeliner, etc.

Smashbox Primer Water ~ Smashbox Pore Minimizing Primer ~ Loreal Makeup Sponge ~ BECCA Corrector ~ Covergirl Clean Matte BB Cream ~ Clinique Powder ~ Tarte Shape Tape Concealer ~ Smashbox 24 Hour Eyeshadow Primer ~ It Cosmetics Poreless Powder ~ BECCA x Jaclyn Hill Face Palette ~ NARS Laguna Bronzer ~ MAC Fix Plus
First I give my face a few sprays of the Smashbox primer water. The one in the picture is just a trial size but I think I might have to buy the full size soon. It just preps the face so nicely - it seems like it smooths everything out and makes my foundation apply flawlessly!

Then I go in with my BECCA corrector - the peach tone cancels out my dark circles and brightens my undereyes, making me look more awake. Almost out of this one, too!

My Covergirl BB Cream is up next - I blogged about this a couple weeks ago in my Friday Favorites and I'm still loving it. It's a nice medium coverage and feels light on the skin; perfect for day-to-day. Shade 540 or 530 are good for me when I'm self-tanned.

Then concealer.. Tarte shape tape is seriously amazing. Coverage is FULL. It goes on a little thick but when you blend it in with a damp sponge it just looks flawless. It's a must have for sure. I use the shade light-medium when I'm self-tanned.

I apply both my BB cream and concealer with a beauty sponge - the one pictured above (the purple blob) is from Loreal. It's rather new but I'm loving it so far! It's under $10 and works just as good as the Beauty Blender if you ask me.

Then I'll use my Smashbox eye primer. I do this even on days when I'm not going to wear a lot of eyeshadow - just because I have really oily lids and my mascara will get everywhere if I don't.

I've mentioned before that I'm very OILY!! So I set my whole face with powder. I use a colored powder (the Clinique) just in my T zone for a little extra coverage. Then I'll go in with the translucent powder from It Cosmetics. I'll lightly dust this all over my face to help my bronzer and blush go on smoothly. I already have a new compact of this powder waiting for me. :)

I have quite a few favorite bronzers but lately I've been using NARS Laguna. It's a beautiful shade and blends easily. Love!

My favorite blush as of recently is the middle blush in this palette. It looks like a dull color in the pan but when I have a little tan - it's the perfect peachy/bronze blush color. Unfortunately this palette isn't available anymore :( I don't know what I'll do when I run out of this blush!!

And here's what it all looks like on! Do you use any of my current faves? What other products should I be trying out!? Let me know in the comments!! Happy Monday. :)
