Baby Boy's Nursery

We are getting down to the wire! Today I'm 37 weeks, 3 days - full term. Whoo! We just put the finishing touches on the nursery, everything is washed, and now we just need a little guy to put in here ;).

I give Randy ALL the credit for this room. The room was already painted grey and white but he put together the crib, glider, dresser, hung all the decor, etc. I just directed and did the laundry :). He's the best!

I didn't really have a theme in mind, I just knew I wanted to keep the grey/white color scheme and add touches of blue. A LOT of the decor on the walls is from Hobby Lobby.. like pretty much all of it, haha. Crib is from Wayfair, glider/ottoman from Babies R Us, dresser from Ikea.. A couple of the blue wall pieces are from Homegoods. I think that's about it.

A few things - I know that some of the decor by his changing table or crib will need to be adjusted when he gets bigger so he's not grabbing anything off the wall. We'll adjust as we need to when that time comes. Also, we don't have a lot in his closet because I put most everything in his dresser. There's like two things hanging in there and a couple boxes of diapers. Let's get into it!

This is the view from the door...

...and when you look to the left, this is what you see. Obviously when the time comes for him to sleep in his crib (which will be awhile) the pillows won't be there. I plan to bring one to the hospital and then we'll be using the other one once we get home.

This is the opposite corner from the door. There was a daybed in the room before and we just left it because there was room for it. Note the kitty by the lamp :) I need to change that lampshade still as well. The flower pattern on it is a little too girly in my opinion. :)

Another view of the crib/glider wall.. eventually the blue decor piece on the wall will have pictures (as well as a couple other spots in the room).

Another shot of the glider. I plan to keep some breastfeeding essentials in that little side table and then his night light/sound machine is on top with a book of prayers.

The opposite wall with the closet...

These two items on the wall were made by very special people! The black wall hanging was made by Randy's mom and the white glass piece was put together by my mom's best friend. I love love love that the little guy has such special pieces in his room. We also have his book shelf stocked and the monitor ready to go!

His dresser/changing table. We bought a regular dresser from Ikea and I just put the changing pad on top of it so we can use it for a long time. The diaper bag will obviously come with us to the hospital and to places when he's born but for now it sits there. The diaper caddy between the changing pad and diaper bag will probably live downstairs or in our room but again - for now, this is the spot for it. The cute little wall hanging on the left is from my sister-in-law and I think it ties in so well with everything else on this wall.

Another shot of the crib..

...and the wall decor.

I put a basket under this little table for all his stuffed animals he's gotten so far..

The decor by the glider.. again, the picture on the left will eventually be of us :)

More wall decor.. again the blue pieces will have pictures eventually.

Another shot of the door/crib area.

His book of prayers and night light/sound machine.

Allllllll the cute little stuffed animals :)

And to the right of the crib we have a night light and a basket of blankies which is FULL.

Last but not least, we have a calendar above his crib/light switch that my sister-in-law got us. This will be so nice to track all of his 'firsts' and all that good stuff. I'd really love to fill it out but I need to wait and see if he comes in November or December! :)

That's it! I hope you enjoyed. If you have any questions on where anything is from, leave a comment below. We can't wait to meet this special little guy!

One outtake of a naughty kitty :)

36 Week Bumpdate

Due date: December 7th, 2017

How far along: 36 weeks

Gender: BOY!!!!

Baby’s name: Still the same – we’re 99% sure we know but just need to see him to make sure it’s right!

Size of the baby: A pineapple I think? He’s about 18 inches long and weighing about 5 or 6 pounds.

Movement: Holy moly. Some of his movements these days make me stop and catch my breath. He is a strong little guy.

Total weight gain so far: 30-35 pounds.

Symptoms: Mostly just swelling still! My feet are always swollen; better in the morning and pretty bad by the time I go to bed. My fingers are swelling a little bit, too. I stopped wearing my rings because I was afraid they’d get stuck J

Most recent doctor appointment: Just had one on Friday. My belly’s measuring a couple weeks ahead and my doctor would like to do another ultrasound in a couple weeks to try and gage how big he is. Other than that, baby’s heartbeat is good and all is well.

Belly button in or out: It’s kind of out? I don’t know, I just try not to pay attention to it because I don’t like it J

Favorite maternity clothes right now: Umm none? Haha I pretty much live in leggings/sweatshirts/Randy’s clothes.

Stretch marks: The ones I already had are expanding a little bit but no new ones.

Sleep: I actually still sleep pretty well. Some nights are better than others – normally I sleep through the night still. Other nights I’ll need to get up and pee or my back/hips are hurting me. I’m not complaining though!

Mood: I’ve been a little more emotional lately. I’m just easily overwhelmed these days with wanting to do ALL the things but knowing I should also take it easy. Randy has been really great about helping and making sure I put my feet up when I can. I don’t know what I would do without him!

Food cravings: None really.

Favorite moment this week: We ordered the stuff we still needed from our registries and hung décor in the nursery. It’s fun to see it all coming together!

Biggest complaint: Back and hip pain. I know it’s almost over so I’m just working on getting comfortable whatever ways I can these days.

Recent baby purchase: A bunch of stuff to finish the registries. Changing pad, monitor, rock ‘n play, diaper pail, etc. Oh and we had a credit at Babies R Us so we stopped in there one day. We HAD to get the baby some Converse so he could match his daddy. J They’re pretty cute!

Hubby: Basically my most favorite human on this earth. He barely ever sits down these days he’s so busy with the baby stuff and all he volunteers for around town – I don’t think I’d survive if I were him.

Nursery: Really REALLY close to being done! Two more things to hang and then I can share it!

Labor signs: None so far.
Looking forward to: Meeting this little guy!!
I'll end with some of our maternity pictures! And one from Halloween when I enjoyed being a carebear for the day :) Reflections by Becky shot our maternity photos and they turned out so amazing; I love them!
